Yorkshire Rental Market Sees Highest Increases

26 Jan 2017

Rightmove have reported an annual average rise of 3 per cent in asking rents outside of London in 2016, with the highest growth in Yorkshire at 4.5 per cent. Asking rents in London fell by 4.4 per cent and are predicted to remain flat this year, whereas average rents in Yorkshire are predicted to rise by 4 per cent. The rise in rents may be due to a decrease in supply of rental properties as buy-to-let Landlords have been more cautious in recent months, which trend may continue with the introduction of the proposed tax changes that will be phased in from April this year.
